Gregor Verwijmeren studied Language and Culture Studies at Utrecht University and guitar at the conservatory in the same town. He published fiction in – among others – De Gids (the oldest Dutch literary magazine) and Flash: The International Short-Short Story Magazine. Gregor works as a music cataloguer at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and is the father of three children. In his free time he enjoys cooking and playing tennis.

De vorm van geluid (The shape of sound) is his debut novel, published by the renowned publishing house Van Oorschot. Gregor is currently working on his second novel, for which he received a grant from the Dutch Foundation for Literature.
